The Atacama Nexus 7i speaker stands are an improved version of the award winning Nexus stand. The Nexus range of entry level speaker stands offer unparalleled quality at such a low cost. Atacama has always been known for offering customers outstanding value for money and the Nexus is no exception. The complete stand is manufactured from heavy gauge steel and the assembly is made using upgraded high tensile fixings to maintain optimum rigidity. The top plate is manufactured from 4mm thick steel plate and carpet spikes are supplied as standard. The Nexus 7i speaker stands are a taller model in the range at 700mm (27.6") high (excluding spikes), which are ideal for smaller size speakers or where the user wants his speakers to be at a higher level. When selecting speaker stands, consider the general listening level and speaker size. As a general rule of thumb, the speaker's tweeter is advised to be at ear level. If placing the stand on a wooden floor, it is recommended to use Atacama Spike Shoes to protect the floor. For the best performance, the centre column can be filled with Atacama Atabites rather than sand (these are delta shaped chips that interlock together and are more effective than sand). Adding this heavyweight filler makes the speaker support more stable, further improving bass control and overall clarity. With gel pads, the isolation in between the speaker and the stand improves dynamics, detail and imaging.
