Description :
The Tannoy 12 inch gold is a Dual Concentric speaker system in a single chassis with a external crossover filter. It has the woofer and the tweeter incorporated in the same chassis. It was intended to be used in radio and recording studios as a studio/audio monitor. Many audio enthusiasts have discovered these well sounding speakers and put them in their homes. The speaker design acoustic balance cavity improves high frequency response and reduces distortion. The phase compensating multiple throats contributes towards smoother and extended high frequency response. Through the revolutionary magnetic shunt circuit, useful LF flux is increased by more than 20%. The high frequency diaphragm is easily replaceable with accuracy. The concentric high frequency horn is complemented by a curved low frequency cone. All of which are protected by a unique plastic surround that provides correct termination and gives improved response and stability. The speaker is controlled by the Treble Control Unit, designed for easy cabinet mounting and incorporates Roll Off and Treble Energy Controls. The Tannoy 12 inch gold speakers, in the right enclosure, will deliver great bass response. They are not limited to any type of music, from huge dynamic swings, to gentle chamber music, and respond well to tube amplifiers, or high power solid state amplifiers.
