Description :
The Spendor BC3 loudspeaker, a vintage collection, produced around 1980. Spendor
loudspeakers have rightly gained a reputaion for providing the high standard
of sound reproduction demanded by professionals and other discerning listeners.
It is one of the most interesting speaker systems build in the past millenium.
The concept is unique, as this speaker uses the whole "corpus" to
produce a extremly rich and harmonic sound. Usually, the enclosure has to be
as stable as possible to avoid resonances of the corpus. Spendor ignored this
tenet and integrated the "harmonic overtone range" with an amazing
result. Just like well built musical instruments, this strategy resulted in
a very unique character and charm, without loosing naturality.
The Spendor
BC3 is a new experience of acoustical music reproduction. It fills huge rooms
with high ceilings without any problem with smooth highs and full round bass.
The midrange reproduces voices in a way, that does not require any part of the
listener's imagination to be part of the scene. Brilliant and soft upper frequencies
rounds the extraordinary speaker off. The Spendor BC3 loudspeaker is a 4-way
masterpiece that does not need more than 30 watts to sound like it should. When
matched with powerful amplifiers to drive, the Spendor BC3 rewards the listener
with accurate, natural-sounding and closest-to-electrostatic-character dynamic
sound with exceptional midrange. The speakers will outplay most of the recent
and more expensive loudspeakers of its category.
