Description :
The Aragon 8002 is a state-of-the-art component. Years of dedicated research,
extensive testing, and engineering refinement went into this Aragon exclusive.
Aragon components offer unparalleled flexibility and performance to the discriminating
music lover. The Aragon 8002 incorporates many advanced design and construction
features into a superbly crafted amplifier. The Aragon 8002 is generally agreed
by audiophiles in its time that the power amplifier is superior to others both
sonically, and electrically. It is a successor of the 2004, based on the 8008ST
and uses 4 2SA1302/2SC3281 devices per channel, and a single, dual-wound transformer.
The Aragon
8002 also offers all the quality and refinement of the Aragon 8008 family. It
utilizes the quality circuit board and components of all 8000 series amplifiers.
The dual wound toroidal transformer and twin rectifiers maintain the channel
separation and soundstage specificity possible only with dual mono operation.
The 8002 provides the continuous amperage and voltage that is needed to properly
drive and control low impedance loads. The Aragon 8002 is very conservatively
rated at 125 watts per channel which easily doubles to 250 watts into 4 ohms,
it is capable of more power into varying impedance loads than most supposedly
'high power' amplifiers.
The Aragon 8002 is renowned for its sound and built quality. It sounds dynamic
and powerful especially on the bass. The highs are smooth and sweet. The mids
are natural and warm sounding. The Aragon has a tremendous sense of finesse
and power. It plays with grace even under pressure. In undemanding signals it
just chugs along with a smooth mid-range and detailed highs. But when some difficult
bass or cresendo sneaks up on it, the power of the dual-mono unit is right there
to do the job. The Aragon 8002 can drive most speakers on the market and is
built to last for many years to come.
