Description :
The Acurus 200X3 is a high end amplifier of exceptional smoothness. This smoothness is not achieved at the expense of detail. The ability to retrieve detail found within the original source has actually been improved. The Symmetrical Channel Configuration reduces harshness and inter-channel anomalies allowing for the increased smoothness and detail. The glass epoxy circuit board employed are found in medical and military equipment. The amplifier has heavy gauge copper wire toroidal transformers for continuous power into lower impedance real world speaker loads. The power reserves are immense to the extent that even after the amplifier is turned off, the music keeps on playing for a few minutes until it slowly fusses out. The amplifier has efficient thermal management and can be played for hours without getting hot. The Acurus 200X3 will not be able to drive very low efficiency speakers such as ribbon/planar type speakers which has impedance of 2 ohms or lower. However, it can drive most 8 ohms speakers with ease and plenty of 4 ohms speakers easily.

The sonic qualities of the Acurus 200X3 are characterized as revealing, and forward but not grainy. The bass is powerful and tight, the midrange is smooth and warm, and the highs are appealing and sweet. It is able to play with the most subtle delicacy at a moment, then play at shattering volumes with no strain, and produces a wide and terrific soundstage. The vocals are slightly warm, but when listening to brass instruments it can sometimes become harsh and fatiguing. Drums seem to have vigor and comes alive with the music and cymbal crashes resonate with crispness. The Acurus 200X3 is a capable preamplifier of superb build quality and delivers high end experience time to time without fail.
